What is upwards compression? It’s a relatively unknown trick you might be missing from your mixing and mastering tool kit. In this video, I introduce upwards compression and share some free plugins to help you use this technique.

It’s good for:
Boosting the quiet parts of an audio signal without squashing the punchy transients.
Bringing more “room” or “ambience” forward in recordings.
Reducing the dynamic range of an audio signal.
