This week Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective’s weekly live stream The Lab goes down under for the very first time as we launch our brand new Lab location in Sydney.
Powered by Void acoustics, The Lab SYD will showcase a mixture of the finest Australian talent with a combination of quality international stars passing through the city.
First up we welcome Basenji, the Sydney-based producer who has recently released his first EP ‘Trackpad’ on the essential label Future Classic. His on-point live show has already taken him from Sydney’s Opera House to New York’s MoMA (Museum of Modern Art).
Fresh from his debut shows in the US and Europe, he steps into The Lab SYD to thrown down a very special DJ set. Expect a combination of a sound that’s been compared to the likes of Cashmere Cat with the swagger of Night Slugs.
This Saturday Basenji heads to Sydney’s brand new day festival The Plot and be sure to check his latest EP Trackpad.
The Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about bringing fans closer to the DJs, providing up and coming talent with a solid platform and throwing unique events where fans and artists can party together.
