The Lab is our weekly office rave up/live stream direct from Mixmag HQ. However, for the next few weeks we will be moving The Lab to the Samsung GALAXY Shoreditch Studio — a pop up record shop in the heart of East London. This Friday, we welcome the sound of Med School, Hospital Records’ twisted sister dedicated to dissecting the divide between d’n’b, electronica, techno, dubstep, drumstep, jungle and breakbeat and representing the sound will be Etherwood and Other Echoes.

With the release of his debut album on Med School Music earlier this week, Etherwood is quickly becoming one of the hottest things in drum ‘n’ bass and his self-titled album has already received regular air time from the likes of Radio1’s Friction and B.Traits.

Other Echoes is the latest in the line of producers to emerge from Cambridge. Formerly releasing under the name Bastille, Other Echoes self titled debut EP was the first broken beat/future garage/dubstep release on Hospital for nearly 9 years. This intelligent debut was nothing short of what was to be expected from the youngest member of the Gresham family, Nick Gresham is younger brother to both Logistics and Nu:Tone.
