So the first thing you wanna do is load the beat you’re going to scratch to. So let’s load this Scratch Beat to Deck 1
Now on Deck 2, let’s load our Audio Sample.
So since Deck 2’s track is 130 BPM, we’ll set this scratches samples’ BPM to 130 as well, so that we retain the natural key and sound of the sample.
Next thing to do is to create a 1/1 beat loop on your sample. So since this sample starts here, we’ll set our 1/1 beat loop as Cue Point A.
At our effect section, select Trans. And set its rate to 1/4 and it’s Dry/Wet Knob to the 12 O’Clock Position.
Next, make sure your effect will affect Deck, where the Scratch sample is located.
Now let’s move on to actually doing this scratch
So the first thing to do is play your beat, and once the drop hits, play your sample via the loop we just made and at the same time, activate your trans effect.
Anyway, let’s now move to level 2 of this effect scratch trick!
Let’s start with changing our Soundcolor FX from Filter to Crush.
So go to your settings, select view, scroll down until you see the section entitled “Effect Panel”. Then select “Beat FX + Sound Color FX”.
Now, check your top left corner. A CFX section should now display with a 3 dot selection and 1 dot selection. Click the 1 dot selection and make sure USER is highlighted, then at the drop down menu, select Crush an highlight it.
Next, let’s activate our Pad FX Echo effect.
So on Deck 2, next to hot cue, select PAD FX, then select the tool icon, then at the top left, select Release FX – Echo, then select On.
So if you wanna apply these extra effects on your scratch, all you gotta do is follow the instructions of the first level, but this time, once the beat drops, also include playing with the Filter knob and pad FX.
