Get Creative with Vinyl Brake Settings! 🎛️✨
Ever wondered how to create those cool, looped braking effects that sound like a vinyl slowing down mid-mix? James Hype uses this technique on really tight loops like demo’d in the video…First you need to tweak your Vinyl Brake settings! By adjusting the brake time, you can pause and play a tight loop to create unique rhythmic patterns that stand out in your sets. 🎶
Here’s how to set it up:
1️⃣ Open Rekordbox and go to Preferences – Controller – Deck – Vinyl Speed Adjust.
2️⃣ Set the touch/brake dial to roughly 2 o’clock.
3️⃣ Set a tight loop then practice playing and pausing the song to a rhythm.
If this kind of technique is not suited to your style the vinyl brake can simply be a great way of stopping a song at the end of a transition or set. It’s a cool effect to experiment with!
