► SCRIPT
So as you heard there, they pretty much sound the same. Whatever I did thru the 1,000 dollar dj controller, I could also do with my 350 dollar 2011 MacBook Pro.
I am limited though to not being able to scratch on my MacBook Pro, because obviously there are no jog wheels nor faders nor nobs on a laptop.
But I am able though to mix, blend, activate effects and sync music to essentially DJ even without those peripherals
And the software I used on my laptop doesn’t cost a single penny. It’s literally free for download. So yeah guys, it’s not what you have that matters, it’s what you do with what you have that does.
So the first thing I did when I made this routine was assess what features I had on this DJ software. And those were pretty much the bare essentials such as syncing and blending in music.
What I did have though is the ability to trigger cue points and play with the crossfader.
So I used that to my advantage and performed some off beat phase mixing to create a cool build up intro for this routine.
To do the off beat phase trick. First load the first song to deck 1 and 2, thenplay the first song and when you reach an off beat section like “here”, (the pink cue point), play the next song *demo*
So lets do a simpler version of this part of the routine by triggering the first songs first beat 3 times, then at the 1st off beat area of deck 1, let’s trigger deck 2.
Now once you get this rhythm going, get a hold of your crossfader and get ready to drag it to the left when the beat drops.
Then as the beat proceeds. Crossfade from left to right every time the beat plays for 2 beats starting with the down beat, or just crossfade at every 3rd beat for 1 beat. and do this until you reach the purple cue point section.
Now once you reach the purple cue point. Stop deck 2, make sure your crossfader is at the center, and finally load the next song.
Then get ready to trigger cue point 1 of it, once you reach this light Blue cue point over here.
Now we proceed to the cue point drumming section of this routine. So the first thing you’ll have to do is let the acapella play, then at the end of it, we’re going to drum cue point 2 and 3 like.
