Since making his name on the UKG circuit, Sandy Hagenbach – better know as Dr Banana – has been an unwavering force. You might know him for his many musical enterprises; which include regular Sunday Service events with Charlie Bones, running his eponymous record label with releases from the likes of Sully, K-Lone, and El-B, or manning his ever-stylish streetwear brand. Whatever the endeavour, Dr Banana is always one step ahead.
This week, Dr Banana debuts in The Lab LDN bringing a heady mix charting the past, present and future of UKG built from his formative years spent at free parties and illegal raves. As well as spinning alongside garage’s best selectors including Interplanetary Criminal, Riz La Teef and Eliza Rose, Dr Banana is also helping to front a new bass brigade through his six-year strong record label.
