►SCRIPT
You can think of this controller as a supplementary unit for your DJing if you have an SC6000 or if you wanna expand to 3 or 4 Deck Mixing on a budget.
You see, this controller is essentially an SC6000 without a screen, expensive internals or the ability to be a standalone player.
But not having those things does not mean the LC6000 is not right for you, because this controller not only works with Denon DJ Gear but also works with Serato DJ Pro, Virtual DJ, and Algoriddim’s DJay Pro AI.
From using the unit though, I can personally say that there are only 2 reasons why you may actually wanna get the LC6000 , and they are the following:
1. If you wanna try using club standard DJ equipment with your current DJ set up
Then this controller is a great addition to compliment your current rig, because this looks and functions as a professional player that you would normally find in clubs; minus of course the screen and standalone player ability.
So if you wanna practice on these units to get that club DJing feel on a more affordable price. This is a great choice.
Number 2:
If you want to expand your DJing experience and start doing 3 or 4 Deck mixing with the equipment you already own. Then these units do an excellent job as functioning as your 3rd and 4th Decks.
You see. The LC in LC6000 stands for layered controller. So this unit is really built for the purpose of complimenting a DJ set as maybe a 2nd, 3rd and 4th Deck.
And from DJing and using them a in 4 Deck mix, they work and function as you expect them too, with just few caveats which I’ll get to later on in this video.
Number 3:
I know I said 2, but number 3 is such a niche reason. Because number 3 will only apply to DJs who already own the SC6000, or SC5000.
So if you do own one of those units, the LC6000 is the best investment you can make to really take advantage of the SC6000’s and 5000’s ability to play 2 tracks from one deck.
So what are my final thoughts on this unit?
Well, Denon DJ set out to make a layered controller for their Prime series of players, and this unit nails that role, and does a whole lot more.
With its ability to work with other softwares, Denon DJ has effectively opened the gates for accessible and affordable club standard DJing.
And I know what you’re thinking. $700 for a player isn’t cheap, but compared to every other player out there, this price is a steal.
So if you’re a beginner DJ, looking to upgrade your equipment, the LC6000 is a great investment to make to level up your bedroom DJing experience to a club DJing experience on a budget.
And if you’re a Denon DJ enthusiast who owns an SC6000 or 5000, then getting this unit is a no brainer!
